Heat treatment process involves the use of heat on the work piece to bring about the required changes in the internal structure to enhance certain properties of the material. The metals are usually alloys of iron, Aluminum, etc. which part of machinery or equipment is. This is very different from the unintentional heating or cooling during the manufacturing process itself, like it takes place during the welding.

There are various heat treatment processes, which include the hardening process, annealing, oil quenching and tempering.
The other processes that can be performed are the nitriding and the cementing process. The process that is taking place in the plant can be very well accomplished to achieve a very high tolerance value, close to the requirements of the work. The processes are done under the supervision of experts in metallurgical working and have years of prior experience in the field, which means that the results are accurate as per the industry standards.
The process of nitriding is done by on of the three ways of delivering the nitrogen gas. It can be done by using a gas, a bath or a plasma medium and the names of the process come to the gas nitriding, salt-bath, and the plasma-nitriding. The process of the gas nitriding, the medium is usually the ammonia gas, which is dissociated in to the hydrogen and nitrogen when it meets the metallic surface, which is already heated up and the process makes the nitrogen gas diffuse through the metal surface inside it. The process can be controlled to regulate the thickness and the concentration of the resultant nitride metal. This is required for maintaining the required set of physical properties. The other process is the salt bath nitriding, where a salt, which has nitrogen, is used for nitriding. The last process is the plasma nitriding, which ions are used for the purpose.
The cementing process involves the use of heat to fuse together small sizes of metals together into a single mass. It is also called as the cold welding process. The cementing process is used for the production of certain metal parts, which cannot be otherwise produced using any other processes. The cementing is done to make the small components of the linkages and the components, which are to be custom fitted into the machine parts. This process happens because of the effect of the fretting taking place in the presence of vacuum, which makes the metallic parts stick to one another due to the force of attraction created by vacuum.
