WHEN LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH: STANDING ON STARS PERFORM AT CHILDREN’S CHARITY BENEFIT

For Immediate Release: February 21, 2012; Toronto, ON; On March 10, musical group Standing On Stars will perform at the When Love Is Not Enough benefit taking place at Revival for the Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s charity. Hailing from Southern Ontario, this highly talented group of musicians have a combined musical resume that would impress any music industry veteran. Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity supports seriously ill children across Ontario, with costs surrounding their illness “when love is not enough”.

“Jennifer Ashley Children’s Charity is unique and set apart from other’s because it touches people in a very tangible way,” explains Standing On Stars Stu Macdonald.  When other charities attack the root cause of disease or disaster in a preventative manner, they help the people affected by disease and illness, with monetary support when they find themselves in a circumstance the rest of us could only imagine.”

Standing On Stars is comprised of Macdonald (lead vocals), Ian Tanner (bass), Darryl McWaters (drums), and Tony Lind (lead guitar). They have honed their skills through 20 plus years of live performance and studio recordings. Macdonald has released a solo jazz album while Tanner has released solo pop albums and been a side man for Canadian country performers Jason McCoy and Deric Ruttan.

McWaters, Lind and Tanner have worked alongside each other in many bands throughout the years including a longstanding gig with Jim Witter in the Pianomen. As Standing on Stars, these guys fuse together all of their individual talents and bring to life many classic and current popular hit songs by artists we’ve all come to love. The band combines great music with live spontaneous fun pleasing audiences at every turn.

“Stuart Macdonald has the ability to lift you up and take you away into his world of music. I thoroughly enjoy listening to him and Standing on Stars,” says JACC Executive Director Jane Sleep.  I’m very much looking forward to being entertained once again on March 10. These musicians have always been very kind to our children’s charity, and we sincerely appreciate their support once again.”

Macdonald  says “the band and I are excited to put together a great night of music at a top notch venue.  I expect that it will be a night to celebrate the success of this wonderful organization while raising awareness to their ever present cause.”
